Itinerary

NIGHT 0: HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI / A MOVING NIGHT

In the evening

At 8:30 p.m, our guide and driver will meet you up at the lobby of your hotel and transfer you to Hanoi train station, where our guide help you to check in your cabin.

Trip’s useful note(s):

  • Sport shoes, clothes must be prepared for the trekking activities in Sapa
  • Plastic boots will be good in case of bad weather (raining season from May to September)
  • It is 4-berth sharing cabin on train and private cabin is arranged upon request
  • Anti-mosquito scream should be prepared
  • Get ready with a night in a local house, which cannot offer you modern or appropriate facilities

Overnight on train

DAY 1: LAO CAI – CAT CAT– TA VAN/ LIVE LOCALLY

In the morning

  • At 6:00 a.m, the train will reach the station in Lao Cai and you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver. Then you will have breakfast in a local restaurant and short time for relaxing.
  • At 8:00 a.m, you will reach Cat Cat village by car after 1.5 hour driving and start your trekking activities today.
  • After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going downhill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before you trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You will also enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest while you are served lunch nearby the river.

Lunch time: 12:00 – 13:00

In the afternoon:

  • After lunch, you continue your trek to Muong Hoa valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village, where is the home of Black Hmong minority.
  • At around 4:00 p.m, you will reach Tavan village inhabited by Giay minority. It is a good idea to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby.

Overnight in a local house

DAY 2: TAVAN – GIANG TA CHAI – SU PAN

In the morning

  • Once you get energy for your last day trek by having a delicious breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority.
  • You will trek through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way, you will pass by a waterfall where you will have time to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. You will find a nice place to enjoy lunch

Lunch time: 12:00 – 13:00

In the afternoon

  • You will continue your trekking toward Su Pan, a small village including 4 small hamlets of the Black H’mong and Red Zao looks down to the Muong Hoa Valley and is one of the poorest commune to Sapa due to the thin and poor soil.
  • At around 3 p.m, you finish the trekking route and the car will wait for you at the main road to take you back to your hotel in Sapa
  • You will have free time afterwards

DAY 3: SAPA – TRAM TON PASS – HANOI / STUNNING PANORAMA VIEW

In the morning

  • At 9:30 a.m, you will be met up at your hotel by local guide and driver again then transferred towards the Silver Waterfall.
  • After taking a short walk to the waterfall, you continue your drive to the Heaven Gate of Tram Ton which can be considered as the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. It is worth enjoying the marvellous views of Fansipan from the Gate, the highest peak of Indochina.
  • Then you start your walking trip by going downhill a dirty trail, through bamboo forest of Hoang Lien National Park.

Lunch time: 12:00 – 1:00 p.m

In the afternoon

  • After lunch, you continue your trek to Sin Chai village, where Community Based Tourism in Sapa takes place.
  • Then you visit the village, inhabited by the Black Hmong people, one of the largest group ethnic minorities in Sapa area.
  • At around 3:00 p.m, you will finish your trek and get back to your hotel by car
  • Free on your own before our guide and driver take you to the train station at around 5:00 p.m
